Scholarships
Mission Statement
The Fresno Women’s Network was founded in 1987 as a way for women to support each other in business, personal, and professional growth. Members are encouraged to build relationships, mentor one another, and give back to the community.
The Fresno Women’s Network has awarded over 100 scholarships to deserving students from the Central Valley continuing their education. We are excited to have the opportunity to award additional scholarships each academic year.
Applications will be
considered on the basis of demonstrated scholastic merit, community involvement, future goals and career objectives. Both men and women are invited to apply.
Qualifications

The applicant must have completed a minimum of 12 units of college coursework.

The applicant must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university institution.

The applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.

The applicant must be a US citizen and permanent resident of either Fresno, Madera, Kings, or Tulare County.

Proof of Fall registration (Should the applicant’s registration date fall after the April 1st deadline, please submit a letter from the dean of applicant’s department confirming the 2026 fall registration)
2 Letters of Reference
Applications must be submitted by April 1, 2026. (No late or incomplete application will be accepted)
Selection Process:

The Fresno Women’s Network Scholarship Committee will review all complete applications and select finalists to move on to the interview process.

All finalists will be contacted and interviewed by the Fresno Women’s Network Scholarship Committee.

The 2026 scholarships will be presented at the May 2026 Fresno Women’s Network luncheon. Scholarship recipients are required to attend.

Privacy of the applicant’s files, personal information, and committee recommendations will be strictly observed. These files will be maintained by the Fresno Women’s Network office for a minimum of two years and then destroyed.

Applicants can apply for the Fresno Women’s Network scholarship more than once. However, applicants can only be awarded the Fresno Women’s Network scholarship twice in their academic career.

2026 Scholarship Recipients
Adrianna Grieco
Adrianna is an aspiring physician and first-generation medical student dedicated to improving healthcare access and patient outcomes in the Fresno community.
After earning an osteopathic medical degree from California Health Sciences University, she hopes to remain in the Central Valley to complete residency training and continue serving the local patient population.
Passionate about both medicine and research, Adrianna plans to contribute to medical research that advances patient care while also mentoring future first-generation students pursuing careers in healthcare.
Deeply committed to community service, Adrianna has volunteered with Hinds Hospice and Poverello House, supporting hospice patients and families, organizing clothing distributions, and founding a successful backpack and school supply drive for local children in need.
These experiences have strengthened her compassion, leadership, and commitment to creating lasting positive change in the Fresno community.
Amy Mincer, Adrianna, Cindy Ames
Amy has served as the Scholarship Chair for the past four years, leading the scholarship program with dedication, integrity, and rigorous standards. Alongside her committee, she carefully oversees the selection process to ensure scholarship recipients are chosen based on merit, achievement, and their commitment to making a positive impact in the community.
This marks Cindy’s fourth year serving in leadership as Vice President or President of Fresno Women’s Network. Her passion is centered on growing opportunities for women through connection, support, and education. Cindy’s mission is to expand FWN’s membership and increase scholarship funding so even more students can pursue their educational goals while women throughout the community have a place to network, collaborate, and empower one another.
Dana Martinez Gonzalez
Dana is pursuing her Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at California State University, Fresno with a passion for aerospace engineering, innovation, and advancing technology through impactful engineering solutions.
She is actively involved in several professional and outreach organizations, serving as Professional Development Chair for the Society of Women Engineers and Secretary of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, where she helps create opportunities for leadership, networking, and career development for fellow students.
Committed to supporting the next generation of STEM leaders, Dana has volunteered as an Upward Bound Math and Science tutor and participated in MESA and other STEM outreach programs that encourage underrepresented students to pursue higher education and engineering careers.
Through continued research, internships, and hands-on engineering experience, she hopes to contribute to innovative projects in industry or research while mentoring future students and making engineering a more accessible and inclusive field.
